Engaged Encounter - United Methodist Weekend
August 20-22, 2010. The event begins Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and concludes Sunday at noon.
The purpose of the Engaged Encounter experience is to prepare couples of all ages for marriage. The goal is to establish and practice good communication and decision-making techniques. The skills taught provide a firm foundation that will be useful throughout their lifetime together. In addition, couples are provided the opportunity to deepen their relationship. Engaged Encounter is designed for couples considering engagement, for engaged couples and newly-married couples up to a year after the wedding. Couples of any denomination, or none, are welcome.
The cost per couple is $400 and includes: lodging, meals and supplies for the weekend.

Upon completion of the workshop, couples can receive the Twogether in Texas certificate that waives the $60 marriage license fee and the 72 hour waiting period.
